The Solarway Story
My Pastor once told me, that if you really want to be successful, “you must reach out to meet a human need, and good success will follow”.One day, my wife told me that she wanted to give each of her orphans, a solar lantern, so they could do their homework, and improve their grades. She showed me a lantern she had from China, which did not work very well and cost almost $100.
I took it back to the office and asked one of our research engineers to have a look at it. What happens with those guys is they dig deep, because that is their job. Soon it appeared we were looking at every lantern ever produced. We found most of them to be expensive, unreliable, and often quite nasty! So we decided to design an ideal lantern. We wanted to produce a scientifically tested product that was also value for money. That was two years ago, today, we now manufacture out of China, our own range of solar products, and are selling them in more than 40 markets around the world. The company, we set up is called Solarway, and is run by a 16 year Econet Wireless veteran called Marco Signorini. They are based in Dubai, and are building a global distribution network for a range of solar products, many of which now have our own patents.
