This one of the major keys to a successful business, at the core, is all about. By the way what is a successful business?  A successful business is simply a solution to somebody's pain or problem. This, however, begs the question: how do you find out what someone's pain or problem is? Sure, you could ask your audience, but chances are you don't have one yet so that advice isn't going to help much right now.

This is where the magic comes in. Here's what you can do in three easy steps:

Step 1:

In whatever prospective niche you're looking to get into, look for forums where people in your niche get together. The best way to do this is to go into Google and type:

forum:niche

So for example, for the fly fishing niche, you'd type in:

forum: fly fishing (make sure you type in "forum" and not "forums").

Google will give you a huge list of all the top forums in the niche, usually ordered by popularity.

Step 2:

Go into one of the forums and look for a search tool or a search field that will let you search for certain terms that people have written in the forum posts. Some forums allow visitors or guests to perform searches without registering, while others require you to register first.

You might as well register anyway, since it may be a place you might become very familiar with as you learn more about your audience. Additionally, many people (including myself) have used forums to establish credibility and authority within a niche.
