Recently. Mr. Odey shares why he wants to become the Governor of River State. In his chat with Tony Nwokolo, Publisher of SUCCESS STORIES ONLINE MAGAZINE recently, he shares his success stories, why he quitted his high paying job with NAPIMS a subsidiary of NNPC for Cross River State Governorship position, as well as his vision and lofty dreams and plans for Cross Riverians.
I refers to Mr. Ochicha as the Most Humble and Honest Nigerian Politician and right man for the Cross River State Governor's job, because of his integrity, honesty, ideas and commitment to service.
One of the major reason why i have so much confidence in Mr.Odey Ochicha is because of what he did recently before he resigned his appointment with NAPIM as subsidiary of NNPC. In one of our discussions, he said that he supposed to travel abroad to attend a training program on the bill of his employers (NAPIMS), but he declined to attend it, because he wants to attend one of the meetings of his party (APC) in Lagos late last year. He stated in that discussion that he supposed to be in the USA for the training program which he has received money running into millions into his account as his traveling allowance. Although he can decide not to return the money as others that did not attend the training program oversea did, instead, he said that he have to refund that money in order to maintain his integrity. While he was saying that, I was saying in my heart, is it possible for this man to refund the money that has been granted unto him as travelling expenses, which he can hold on to, if he decides to do so and no one could question him.
To my surprise, when i visited him in his office the next day i saw the cheque of the money running into millions, which he have issued to in favour of the NAPIMS, with memo attached just to refund the money out of his own free will, since he could not attend the training program oversea.He did not know that i saw the cheque and the memo he issued to return that fund, and i did not let him know that i am aware of his honest action. Since that day my respect and regard for him increased. I told some of my friends that i have seem one Nigerian that is not corrupt and very honest and selfless to the core in the person of Mr Odey Ochicha.
I remember in this interview, he insists that he is not going into politics to make money but to serve and impact positively on the lives and economic well being of his people, and i believe him in totality because i have been observing him closely and i ve discovered that this man; Mr. Odey Ochicha is a man with rare leadership, honesty, integrity, innovative and selfless qualities.
Other qualities i have observed in his personality is; he is a gentle, God-fearing, humble, tactful, caring and courageous man. I also recall the first date we had appoint to have this interview with him in his office on Gerald Road, Ikoy, Lagos, Nigeria, but due to traffic jam i and my crew could not get to his office in time and he had a flight to catch to Abuja that day. And when i got to his office he called me and told me that he have left and on his way to the Airport to catch a flight. I felt disappointed and while in my vehicle driving back figuring out how i will pay the Camera man and the expenses i have incurred coming all the way from Ikeja - Lagos Mainland to Ikoyi -Lagos Island. I just receive an sms alert notifying me the funds he transferred to my account and which was enough to pay the Camera man i engaged that day and the money i spent out of my pocket to fuel my car to the island that day. This act is another proof of his integrity and empathy.
From my association so far with this Man; Mr. Odey Ochicha, i strongly we need people like him in the political offices, and if we could have people like him as President, Governors and public office holders in Nigeria, Nigeria will be out of the woods and emerge as one of the best countries in the world within the shortest period of time.
Also, after reading his book; Leading with Courage and Integrity, i concluded that this man practices what he preaches. Therefore, i implore Cross Riverians to consider and vote Mr. Odey Ochicha as their governor come February 14, 2015 and they would be glad they did. Truly, without fear or favour, he is the right man for the job. He is tested and proven. I have not seen a honest and God-fearing man like him, before. My prayer is may the good Lord grant him the grace and crown his efforts in this election with success in Jesus Christ's mighty name, Amen!
