How to Double Your Boldness in 5 Minutes
This article is about doubling your boldness in five minutes or less. No more reading books about self-confidence and self-esteem, no more talking to your psychiatrist about how you were not hugged as a child, no more work is required, this article will show you how to “double your boldness”…today!
The bold get what they want out of life, they take no prisoners, which is why boldness is a critical factor to your success. Boldness is more important than you have been led to believe. There is no success, without boldness.
Imagine you’re playing poker, and you have 1,000 poker chips, you feel great, you’re confident. Now imagine that you only have 10 poker chips, the way you would approach the same game, is very different now, you would be much more cautious with only 10 chips. Boldness is like the “poker chips of life,” but the good news is, you determine how many chips you have, by believing in yourself, and in your competence.
This article is for those who are competent, but lack confidence. I don’t want you to double your boldness today as it relates to flying a passenger airliner, if you’ve never taken a flight lesson – take the flight lessons first (then come back and double your boldness).
I want you to shine and be bold regarding your strengths and competences; this article will show you how.
5 Keys to Doubling Your Boldness in 5 Minutes:
1. Be Loud
As a “general rule,” the bold are loud, it is the lion who roars. In the business world, those who speak the loudest are usually in charge. And there is a hierarchy as it relates to this, leaders get louder and louder as you approach the top of the organization. It is the CEO whose voice is heard, it is the teacher, the pastor, the politician, the business leader, who must raise their voice over the crowd to be effective.
Do you realize that your volume, when you are speaking, is directly related to how much oxygen you are taking into your lungs when you breathe. This means thatsubconsciously, timid people don’t feel comfortable taking in sufficient oxygen to support what they have to say.
Pause and breathe before each phrase you utter, take in as much oxygen as you need before speaking to express yourself like the powerful person that you are.
2. Be Clear
The bold are crystal clear. If you speak too fast, too low, mumble your words, or lower your volume at the end of your phrases, it is clear to everyone that not even you value what you have to say. Why would anyone else value what you have to say, if you don’t value what you have to say enough, to make it crystal clear.
Slow down, be clear in your articulation, be as clear as possible, starting today; open your mouth wide to articulate your words, and if you would like to get even better at articulating yourself, spend 15 minutes reading out loud every day.
3. Be Entitled
The bold are entitled, and they ask for what they want. A certain level of entitlement isrequired to succeed, you have to believe that “you” deserve to succeed. In my favorite Poem, Thinking, by Walter D. Wintle, he writes:
If you think you are beaten, you are
If you think you dare not, you don't,
If you like to win, but you think you can't
It is almost certain you won't.
You have to believe you can win, and that you deserve to win, if you are to succeed. The bold believe in themselves, they believe “destiny” owes them success, and so should you. The poem concludes by saying:
Life's battles don't always go
To the stronger or faster man,
But soon or late, the man who wins
Is the man WHO THINKS HE CAN!

4. Be Patient
The bold are patient with themselves. They take up “your time” to express themselves as they see fit. They don’t rush unnecessarily. They believe what they have to say is important, and that you should be quiet long enough to listen. They believe that it’s okay to take a roundabout approach to answering your question, or explaining themselves, because ultimately they will give you an answer that you can only get from them.
The timid are always in a hurry, running around like a chipmunk, but the bold are like a lion, they move and speak when they are ready to, and only when they are ready to.The bold are as comfortable expressing themselves as they are tempering their comments when they have little to say. The bold are patient with themselves and feel comfortable acknowledging their mistakes, they understand that they are powerful, not perfect, so their mistakes are okay.
Be patient with yourself, be bold.
5. Be Regal
The truly bold behave like royalty. They are royal in their own eyes. They are comfortable in their skin, and they connect easily with other people. They have a sense of belonging. They’re body language, eye contact, posture, attire, and general pace is reminiscent of a king or queen.
If you don’t feel regal, you may have to “fake it until you make it.” The bold see themselves as regal, and so should you, starting today.
In Closing
All of these steps can and should be put into place immediately. These actions won't just make you feel bold, they will actually make you bold, as you continue to perform them everyday.
You may want to print out this article and put it in a place where you will be reminded to “turn on” your boldness daily. You don’t need to be bold everywhere you go, boldness is taxing, use it when you need it, and people will respond and respect your competence and your genius in a way that will surprise even you.
So be bold, speak up in the next meeting, greet someone in a bold way today, let your volume and confidence shock them, force them to pay attention to you and your greatness.
Get over your past, so what if nobody told you how great you were, I'm telling you right now. You don't need counseling to get over your insecurity, send me that counseling check, I’m telling you “you are great right now,” so start acting like it, right NOW!
Make that important phone call you’ve been postponing, say “Hi” to that stranger, I don’t care if you’re weren’t raised to be confident, you can be bold starting today, it’s your choice, get out there and do something, kick something, throw something “god-dog it,” make some moves, and change the world.
