If You Must Succeed in Any Endeavour,You Must Burn Any Bridge for Retreat
I
read an inspiring story about a
captain of a battalion of soldiers, who lead a battalion to the battle field
across a sea with a boat and after they have crossed over to the war front and
alighted from the boat, the captain set ablaze the boat that conveyed them to
the other side of the war zone, and addressed his solders and said; Gentlemen, as you can see the boat which transported
us to this place have been set ablaze; that means that we have no means to
retreat nor to surrender, we must win this battle, if we must return home alive
or we perish here. Guess what happened? They won the battle, as a result of
that singular decision and action of their leader, who provided no means for
them neither to retreat nor to surrender.
This is a strong and hard decision,
and it led to their victory. It has been proven that when one makes up his or
her mind, that he or she would not give up until he or she succeeds, you will
observe that anything or anyone resisting the person would give way on its own
accord, because they would be worn out. Until
you resolve and decide to take action, even if it warrants to life or death,
poverty or prosperity, shame or fame, you might neither be successful nor
fulfilled in life.
To Live You Must Decide To Die, To Gain
You Must Be Ready To Lose.
Jesus Christ, tells us in the book of
John 12: 25; He that loves his life shall lose it, and he that hates his life
in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.
In
order, to live you have got to discover something worthwhile and valuable which
you can die for. Christ says He has power to lay down his life and take it up.
Until you summon the courage to lay it down, you cannot take it up. No wonder, the
bible tells us, “that except a seed of corn fall into the ground and dies, it abides
alone, but if it dies, it brings forth much fruit – John 12:24. Jesus
Christ attracted a whole lot of followers and believers today even 2,014 years
plus after His death and resurrection, because He sacrificed His life. He that loves his life shall loss it and he
that hates his life in this world shall keep it unto eternal life – John 12:25.
You have heard it all from the Lord of Lord and Kings of kings. Life is all
about risk and you have got to take worthwhile risks in order to be great.
Enough of playing safe, sitting on the
fence or standing still, watching others as spectators all the days of your
life, It’s high time to decide and take action.
It’s
time to trail the blaze, find your path and place in life and play your role
therein; act your script according to the Holy Scriptures, which has been
predestined for you to act by the Most High God.
How Do I Make Right Decision?
In
order to make the right decision, the following principles and techniques must
be applied.
1. List
the options available for you to consider in respect of the issue at stake, for
instance, in order to achieve good Success, Happiness and Fulfillment; you need
to answer the following questions which would help you to get started, decide
and determine the kind of life you want to live and lead, they are: -

What do I want to become?
·
What do I want to do?
·
What do I want to achieve?
·
What would I want to be remembered for, after
I am gone?
·
What would I like to share?
·
Who do I want to serve all the days of my
life; God or the Devil?
·
Where do I want to spend my Eternity?
Take
time to think and answer the above listed questions and be very frank with your
answers; get a journal, an exercise book, or a plain sheet of paper and write
out the questions and the answers below it one after the other. After answering
and writing down your answers, the next step is to write down the REASONS you
want to become, do, achieve, accomplish and share those things as a back-up to
your answers.
Whenever
I am opportune to share or teach these decision-making process principles. I
always encourage and implore people to start by making the most important,
significant and the wisest decision in life. That decision is so important
as it is a determinant factor; on who you want to become here on earth and
where you want to spend your life hereafter you have passed on. The
decision you make today can determine where or who you will become in the next
10 years, as well as where you would spend your eternity; Heaven or Hell? The
choice is up to you to make.
Always
make decision concerning any particular situation or issue based on the truth
and the reasons you have in line with God’s word and then use it to validate
your decision and actions. Now, consider below the
wisest and most important decision and the reasons you must decide on it now. The Fear of God is the beginning of wisdom,
and the decision to love, worship and fellowship with him is the access to
peace, joy and everlasting life.
The Wisest and Most Important Decision
You Must Make, and the Reasons You Must Decide on It Now.
Questions: Is
there God; the creator of Heaven and earth? How can I know him? Do I really
need to believe, love, fellowship and worship God through Jesus Christ? Why
must I believe in Jesus Christ in order to become Born Again? Why must I pray
to the Most High God in Jesus name?
Answers: Yes,
there is God, the creator of the Heaven and the earth, you can know him through
His word, which became flesh and manifested in the person of His son, Jesus
Christ John 1: 1 - 51, He is the way, the truth and the life – John 14: 6. Of
course, you are obliged to believe, love, fellowship and worship God through
Jesus Christ, because God has commanded in His word as recorded by Apostle John
in the
book of John 3:5 Jesus answer, verily, verily, I say unto you except a man be
born by water and spirit he cannot enter the kingdom of God. Because, that
which is born of the flesh is of flesh and that which is born of the Spirit is
of the Spirit – John 3:5, Also
see;
Romans 8: 1, Philippians 2 :7
No. 1: Reasons: Because
until you are born of the Spirit of God by accepting and believing that Jesus Christ,
is the son of God even as a child and believe with your heart and confess with
your mouth that God raised him from the dead –Romans 10:9-10, you are not born
of God, you are still a child born of flesh only. The bible tells us that God
is a spirit and they that worship him, must worship him in spirit and in truth.
– John 4:24. Until you are born by the Spirit of God, and become a new creature
– 2nd Corinthians 5: 17, you are still bearing the curse which God
pronounced on Adam and Eve, the first man and woman, that curse is the root
cause of suffering, death, shame, failure, struggling, sorrow, sickness and
damnation. Until you accept Jesus Christ; the second Adam, the sacrificial
lamb, the light of the world, God does not recognize you as His child yet,
because you do not have His Holy Spirit, rather you are at the mercy of the
devil.
No. 2: Reasons; When
you are born-again, old things and sins shall pass away and all things shall
become new, in accordance to the book of 2nd Corinthians 5:17, you will have
new life, new joy and health, new beginning, new friendship with Christ and you
will be seated in Heavenly places in Christ Jesus, far above all principality
and power – Ephesians 1: 21, Isaiah 43:18-19.
No. 3 Reasons: When
you are a born of God, you shall be qualified to enjoy the Divine Blessings,
Divine Favour, Divine Protection, Divine Healing, Divine Promotion, Divine Restoration,
Divine wisdom, Divine Grace, because the Holy spirit of God would come upon you
and live in you, and when Christ returns back you shall be worthy and qualified
to rapture with him to reign with him in the kingdom of God – 1st Thessalonians
4:16 – 17, 1st Corinth. 2:9-14
No. 4 Reason: -
You shall not be condemned nor be cast into the lake of fire, which is the
second death; rather you shall reign with Jesus Christ in the kingdom forever
and ever – Rev. 21: 8, Romans 8:1
Friends,
the foregoing are the reasons you must decide now, believe and become a child born
of God (Born-again). For as many that led by the Spirit of God
they are the sons of God – Romans 8: 14. Also, it is written to them
that believe, to them gave He the power to become the children of God.
Therefore the foregoing are worthwhile reasons you must be born-again and give
your life to Jesus Christ as your Lord and saviour.
These
principle shall also serve as a yardstick to enable you make the right decision
concerning other areas of your life, ministry business, marriage etc., you
shall always ask the questions and use the word of God as the scale of judgment
to inform your decisions or judgment.
